East Region Championships 2026

Harwich Swimming Club swimmers produced an outstanding set of performances across all three weekends of the 2026 East Region Long Course Championships, with the club represented by swimmers ranging from experienced senior competitors through to younger swimmers making their regional championship debuts. Competing at regional level is a huge achievement in itself, with swimmers required to hit demanding qualifying standards to earn their place amongst the best athletes in the East of England, and Harwich swimmers rose to the occasion throughout the championships with a host of personal bests, finals appearances and club records.

Harwich Claim Essex Mini League Victory

Harwich, Dovercourt and Parkeston Swimming Club delivered an outstanding all-round team performance at the latest Essex Mini League gala, finishing first overall with 166 points ahead of Halstead and Colchester. The result was made even more impressive by the number of younger swimmers making their Mini League debuts, with many of the club’s Under-10 swimmers competing in the event for the first time and rising brilliantly to the occasion. The support shown by the older swimmers towards their younger teammates created a fantastic atmosphere around the pool, with experienced swimmers helping encourage and guide the club’s newest competitors through the gala.

Essex County Championships 2026 - Weekend 3

Harwich Swimmers Finish Essex Championships with Record Points Total Harwich Swimming Club rounded off the final weekend of the Essex County Championships with another series of strong performances, including finals appearances, podium finishes, regional qualifying times and numerous top-10 placings. Across the three weekends of racing, Harwich swimmers accumulated 233.5 points to finish 14th overall in the county standings. This marks a huge improvement on last year’s 109 points and 22nd place, with several significantly larger clubs finishing below Harwich — a clear sign of the club’s continued progress.

Essex County Championships 2026 - Weekend 2

Harwich Swimming Club continued their brilliant County Championships campaign with another superb weekend of racing, packed with long course personal bests, finalists, top-10 finishes, and some huge milestone swims across the squad. The weekend began strongly in the Boys 100m Freestyle, with a string of long course PBs. Sean Bibby and Beau Johnston both produced excellent swims to clock new long course bests, while Taylor King and Barney Weston also lowered their long course times.

Harwich Secure Promotion After Outstanding Essex League Performance

Harwich, Dovercourt and Parkeston Swimming Club produced a superb all-round team performance at the latest round of the Essex League, finishing second overall and securing promotion to Division One for the next round of the competition. The gala saw swimmers deliver an impressive number of personal best performances alongside multiple top three finishes, demonstrating the strength and depth of the club across all age groups. Leading the way was Emily Turner, who produced a standout swim to win the Open Girls 100m Breaststroke in a personal best time of 1:16.

A Night to Celebrate: Presentation Evening 2026

Our annual Presentation Night was everything we hoped it would be – and more. The room was full, the atmosphere was buzzing, and it was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the achievements, commitment and progress of swimmers from right across Harwich, Dovercourt and Parkeston Swimming Club. From first-time award winners to long-standing club members, the evening was a brilliant reminder of what makes our club special. Presentation Night is about far more than medals and trophies; it is about recognising effort, resilience, improvement and teamwork – values our swimmers demonstrate week in, week out in training and competition.

Essex County Championships 2026 - Weekend 1

Harwich & Dovercourt Swimming Club celebrated a hugely successful opening weekend at the Essex Championships, led by outstanding performances from Emily Turner and the club’s 9/10 year old boys relay team, both of whom delivered exceptional swims on the county stage. Emily Turner was one of the standout swimmers of the entire championships, producing a remarkable weekend of racing. She claimed two county titles, winning gold in both the 200m breaststroke and the 50m breaststroke, the latter secured in a long-course personal best.

Essex Mini-League 2025 - Round 3

13 May 2025

Harwich Swimming Club travelled to Dagenham on Saturday to compete in round 3 of the Essex Mini League, competing against Barking & Dagenham, Brentwood, City of Southend and Woodham. The team was largely inexperienced and young but did not disappoint in their effort and enthusiasm with some swimmers competing in older age groups. Finn Muldoon kicked off the first places in the 11 & under 50m backstroke, in a new personal best time of 42.

Essex League – Round 3

Harwich Swimming Club travelled to Hornchurch last weekend to compete in round 3 of the Essex League, looking to build on the previous week’s success at the Essex Mini League, and the swimmers did not disappoint. Competing against hosts Hornchurch, Halstead, Runnymede, Witham and Dunmow Atlantis, Harwich were more than up to the challenge with the gala one of the closest fought competitions of recent years. First places were hard to come by.

Essex Mini-League 2025 – Round 1

Harwich swimming club were in top form when they travelled to Witham to compete in the first round of the 2025 Essex Mini League. Other teams competing were Borough of Southend, Witham, Clacton and Woodham. With many young swimmers competing for the club for the first time they did not disappoint and the hard work in training paid off with swimmers cutting seconds off their personal bests. 15 first places and 13 second places secured Harwich the top spot with 170 points, with BOSS a close second with 166 points.

Essex League – Round 2

01 Feb 2025

Harwich Swimming Club travelled to Basildon to compete in round 2 of the Essex Swimming League. With some of the older swimmers unavailable and some swimmers competing despite illness, this was felt to be quite a challenging event. However as always the team stepped up to the mark with many swimmers competing out of age group and everyone giving 100% as always. Harwich were competing against Chelmsford, Brentwood, Hornchurch, Halstead and Dunmow Atlantis.
